"A week in October"

This week we have taken delivery of 5,000 flyers! These were designed by ourselves in order to promote kapow photography in venues and wedding related businesses in and around the South Wales area. Its important to us to stand out from the crowd, to be the best there is and this means having the best and being the best in every facet of the business even down to the correct flyer design and wording. Now while we're not normally in the business of knocking other photographers I think I should point out seeing as Im writing a blog on this that we've been quite suprised during our research at some of the poor standards when it comes to producing such an important marketing tool such as a flyer. Some photographers have really missed a trick with cheap and small looking flyers that we've found at venues when doing our research. When you are selling your services as wedding photographers via this promotional tool you really must make an impact on the bride to be. Afterall there are hundreds of flyers out there and its extremelly difficult to prove how good you are on one side of A4 or A5!

Our high quality glossy flyers have been professionally printed and we also bought plastic flyer holders so that they look great when on display and not just laid flat on some counter in a florists, wedding dress shop or hotel when they are on display. Dave and myself have already started to distribute these; so far I have been to the Oxwich bay hotel and left 100 there, also to two wedding dress shops in Llanelli, and a florist in swansea. The visit to the Oxwich bay hotel was planned anyway. My sister is due to get married at the marquee in March 2010 so I went along to check the lighting and take some test photos of her. Oxwich bay is a great location anyway and I would like to mention what a great venue it is with a very grand marquee located just next to the beach. The photos on the day will look fantastic with that backdrop provided that we at least get some fine weather in which to get onto the beach and take some traditional and reportage bride and groom photography without getting too wet! If you can manage to get hitched at the St Illtyd's church next to the marquee then that really does promise something extra special. The small church stands half hidden in the woods of oxwich and overlooks the bay and makes for some interesting idyllic wedding photographs.
