Wedding Photographer, Bridgend. Jade & Dave Evans
It was over to Blackwood this weekend for the wedding of Jade & Dave Evans. I met Karl in Cwmbran early and we left for Jade’s house in Pontllanfraith. The girls were all in good form when we got there and we soon realized what sort of day it would be when the bridesmaids Megan and Helen, after every photograph insisted that we took a second one, in the same pose, only this time they would all pull funny faces! Obviously they were more relaxed than I was the morning of my wedding a few weeks ago in Caerleon.
We met the videographers for the day Kristian (Jade’s Brother) and Andrew. I have to say they were a pleasure to work with and we hardly noticed that they were there.Once we got what we wanted at Jade’s it was over to meet Dave and the boys to take a few quick shots before we all left for the church.
The ceremony was to be held at The Life Centre in Pontllanfraith. I have to say the ceremony was amazing. The Tab Life Centre is a very modern and lively church and the whole ceremony was uplifting, touching, thought provoking and humorous throughout. With sermons from Pastors Sarah Trinder, Carl Hickling and Jeff Evans, who is actually Dave’s father, it was obvious that everyone in the room enjoyed it immensely.
Jade and Dave were accompanied down the isle by the bridesmaids and family, all dancing to the tune of ‘Son of a Preacher Man’. It was absolutely hilarious and I can’t wait to see the video.
After a few quick group shots outside the church we got in the car and got a head-start on the rest of the guests to allow us time to get to the reception venue, Bryngarw House in Bridgend.
Bryngarw is a stunning location for a wedding venue set in beautiful grounds with a large lawn, a lake and there’s even a ‘Japanese Garden’ which we find is perfect for the wedding photography.
Once all the guests had arrived there was time for a few more formal photographs before Jade, Dave and all the ‘principals’ made their way down to the Japanese Garden for some more shots. We always keep these photography sessions informal and enjoyable for everyone involved. We try and get our customers as relaxed as possible and we think this shows in our photographs. Also we feel speed is important too. This is where the two photographer setup really shows it’s advantages. We can get the shots we need in less time than one wedding photographer could and the guests can get back to the reception to enjoy their day.
The photography during the speeches was a breeze as the reception room at Bryngarw House is a marquee at the back of the hotel. Marquees are always well lit and makes it a lot easier for us photographers. We were able to capture the emotion of the room as the speeches were read but we made sure we didn’t get in the way of the videographers as this was their domain.
After the meals we had a few hours to kill before the first dance so we set up a ‘Portrait‘ area on on of the lawns and the guests took it in turns to have their photographs taken. We even had time to record a video testimonial for Kapow. Thanks to the girls for this, it was totally un-prompted and really funny.
Thanks to everyone involved for a great day, the photographs are ready for when the happy couple return from their honeymoon.
Dave
