National Botanic Gardens wedding photography

Last Month we were fortunate enough to cover the wedding of Hayley and Michael at the National Botanic Gardens near Camarthen. It was the first time I’ve photographed a wedding there but as soon as I had a little walk around I couldn’t wait to get the camera out and shoot in this fantastic wedding venue. Working alongside Kapow that day shooting the wedding video was our good friend Steve Ratcliffe from Focus Media Productions who is always a pleasure to work alongside. With the rain holding off until the wedding photography was out of the way we managed to borrow a golf buggy and drove to various locations around the gardens.

Below are some of our favourite photos from the day…

Emma Jean & Adam

As a wedding photographer, Llanelli is a popular locaton for us. We were last month lucky enough to shoot the stunning wedding of Emma-Jean and Adam at the Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli. Its always a fun day for us when we are in the company of such amazing, happy and fun wedding guests and on this day the guests were on top form! Stopping off at Parc Howard for some bride and groom portraits the weather was simply perfect… not too sunny and a descent amount of cloud cover.

This wedding was about the 6th referral for us from a group of friends. So we were delighted to see so many guests at the wedding who we had seen at previous weddings we had shot! The ceremony was at the St David & Cyfelach Church, Llangyfelach, and it was onto Llanelli for the photographs. Parc Howard is a popular location for weddings that are at the Stradey Park Hotel. The mansion and the park itself  were given to Lady Howard Stepney  in  1912 and converted into a park. It was opened by Lady Howard Stepney on her first wedding anniversary on Saturday 21 September 1912, so it has a little bit of history when it comes to wedding photography. I’m not sure if any photos were actually taken on that September day back in 1912 but for us we had two bags full of photographer gear ready for the shoot!

Both Emma and Adam were a pleasure to be around and with a two photographer package booked with Kapow it meant the while one of us posed the couple and shot with a wide angle lens the other was able to capture some fantastic images from a distance with the long lens. The flow to the wedding shoot of the bride and groom is important to us, and we try to make the couple feel relaxed as possible, this ensures the best outcome for the photographs.

I know Emma has been desperate to see a few sneaky photos of the day… so here they are Emma!
