As wedding photographers we love shooting at stunning wedding venues, It makes life a little easier and also extremely exciting when we are taking photographs when we come across a dramatic sweeping staircase, turrets on a castle for a Romeo and Juliet shoot or mature gardens with a country house backdrop. Fortunatley in Wales we are blessed with some truly world class wedding venues. Now I can hear you laugh a little when I mentioned the word "world class" there but I know for a fact that a good friend of ours and well known world class New York photographer Louis Torres would give anything to shoot a wedding at a Welsh Castle!
Another wedding venue in Bridgend is the Grade II listed Court Coleman Manor which was bulit in 1776 and has that all important sweeping staircase and Renaissance fireplaces that add that little bit something to your wedding photos! Suituated in Pen Y fai in Bridgend it is another that has easy access to the M4 with plenty of accomodation for you wedding guests. It seems that we are spoilt for choice really when you think about it, throw in Castel Coch and Margam Orangery and a few castles in and around the South Wales area and we really are lucky to have such stunning venues on our doorstep that are easily accessable to most people living along the M4 corridor.
One tip we as a photographer would like to give though is when choosing your wedding venue always try to pick a venue that has ample room inside for some of the photography to take place should it rain, try to imagine where the large group shot would take place inside your venue if we have torrential rain. This is important because despite our world class wedding venues, we do not have world class weather!
For those of you who are living in the South Wales area in between Cardiff and Swansea and for those that are stuck for a wedding venue may we suggest Bryngarw House in Bridgend This is a stunning country park location which is located a few minutes drive from the M4 and has fantastic gardens and 19 luxury bedrooms in this four star wedding venue. Its is quite suprising that as wedding photographers we have visited this location many many times. This speaks volumes for its popularity and it seems to attract many people from not just the Bridgend and Porthcawl areas but also from Llantrisant, Cardiff, Neath and Swansea due to its easy access four miles from J36 of the M4.
